Kim, Pierce did not tear out the note, he was shown the note and apparently the PD did not know about it or the journal...why did Mrs VD show him the note? ..From the Capitol Grill, page 9 scroll halfway down:

The "Daddy note" 4x6" was torn from her diary in master bedroom in "his" nightstand, mother offered it to me. mother stated this is something she just wrote to her dad...

i did not ask to see her room. it was the idea of mother. the other parent offered no HELP..

the diary was still onsite in her room. police did not know of either. i told the police that same day.
