WASHINGTON - Gun-control advocate Sarah Brady bought her son a powerful rifle for Christmas in 2000 - and may have skirted Delaware state background-check requirements, the New York Daily News has learned.

Brady reveals in a new memoir that she bought James Brady Jr. a Remington .30-06, complete with scope and safety lock, at a Lewes, Del., gun shop.

Darn shame that it wasn't reported as an automatic assault rifle with a sniper scope on it!

Any normal person that makes it to newsprint would get that treatment.

Well if this story does prove to be true then the question has to be asked how come with all the information about how evil guns are that HER SON still wanted to own one

Sounds like he doesn't believe Mom's BS

Strawman Purchase Ping...elitism at it's finest...

"I can't describe how I felt when I picked up that rifle, loaded it into my little car and drove home," she writes. "It seemed so incredibly strange: Sarah Brady, of all people, packing heat."

LOL. I was thinking the same thing. I would've done the same thing if I was the dealer. Maybe he even had to. I mean imagine what the guy on the other end of the line was asking.

Is 'skirting' the same thing as 'BREAKING'?

When a PC icon like Sarah Brady does it it's "skirting" and gets a pass.

When a 2nd amd advocate does it, it's an interstate "straw purchase" and a clear violation of the law and results in the BATFags smashing down his doors at 4AM with a flash-bang hello to kill him if he makes a "sudden move".

I can't believe that Sarah Brady would buy her son a rifle. IF, IF, IF it's true, then she is one treasonous hypocrite.

evil bitch Feinstein

Despite millions of lines of press coverage, I don't think anyone has ever captured the personality of the Senator from California so completely. Short, elegant, accurate.

I'm shocked, I tell you -- SHOCKED!

I'll be even more shocked if this sees the light of day in the LeftMedia. If it does, I'm buying the beer.

I think we should freep the radio shows to get it some traction. A "straw purchase" is illegal, PERIOD.

And crossing the state line with it should bring in the feds.

Hold your horses, everybody. There is nothing in federal or Delaware law that prohibits someone from buying a gun and giving it as a gift to someone else (unless that person is prohibited by age, felony record, etc. from possessing it). The original source of this story, the New York Daily News, has reported that it is going to run a retraction in tomorrow's paper to make clear that its story was wrong and she did nothing illegal. So let's not push the erroneous part of the story. She's not a criminal - just a hypocrite.

I think the BATF needs to conduct a no knock raid against this known liar because of the huge arsenal she has in her home.. they should use stun grenades and put Janet Reno in charge with a flame thrower and......
