UNIVERSITY WEBSITE LINK UNDER FIRE (Boulder-AP) -- The University of Colorado has denounced a link to the Hamas charter from a student group's Website. But it stopped short of requiring the Muslim group to remove the link. Hamas is a Palestinian organization that calls for the killing of Jews. A link to Hamas' charter can be reached via a link on the website of the C-U Muslim Students Association. University spokeswoman Bobbi Barrow says the student group has the right to maintain the link under the First Amendment. However, Barrow says the university asked that a disclaimer be added to the site saying links to non-university sites do not represent an endorsement by C-U. Members of the Muslim Students Association say the controversy is unwarranted

The solution to this seems fairly simple. Find (or form) a student group and link KKK, Neo-Nazi, etc. websites from that student website.

I am sending this to you to ask for your assistance in demanding action from the president of the University of Colorado.

Several months ago, it was brought to the attention of CU's administration that there was a link to the charter of the terrorist organization Hamas on the University of Colorado web site. This link sits on the page of the Muslim Student Association, an official student group at CU Boulder.

To get to the link, go to the CU homepage:www.colorado.edu, click on the link for student resources, click on the link for student activities, click on the link for student clubs and organizations, and click on the Muslim Students Association (for direct link, click here: http://www.colorado.edu/StudentGroups/msa/) Go to the links section and choose "ININ Worldwide News And Views About Islam And Muslims"

The charter specifically calls for the killing of Jews:

"... the Hamas has been looking forward to implement Allah's promise whatever time it might take. The prophet, prayer and peace be upon him, said: The time will not come until Muslims will fight the Jews (and kill them); until the Jews hide behind rocks and trees, which will cry: O Muslim! there is a Jew hiding behind me, come on and kill him! This will not apply to the Gharqad, which is a Jewish tree (cited by Bukhari and Muslim). "

"Israel, by virtue of its being Jewish and of having a Jewish population, defies Islam and the Muslims. "

It is completely unacceptable that the University allows this link to remain connected to its website. Can you imagine the promptness of the actions that would have been taken had there been a link containing a sexist joke, or using racist terminology, let alone calling for the killing of another minority group?

President Hoffman was notified in person of this link in January. Despite her assurances that the issue would be resolved, nothing has been done and the link remains.

As students, parents, prospective students, alumni and taxpayers, I urge you to let your voice be heard. Tell Elizabeth Hoffman that you will not attend or support CU if it allows an environment of hatred and anti-semitism to exist on its website and its campus. Demand that she act promptly to remedy this situation.

You can email her at president@cu.edu. Please also forward your email to the Board of Regents, who are elected officials, and let them know that you will speak with your votes! HELP THE STUDENTS OF CU KEEP THEIR ENVIRONMENT FREE FROM BIGOTRY AND HATRED!

Good Grief! My daughter was accepted at Colorado and we are going to take a look around during the Oregon spring break next week. I am friends with some girls that are part of a college campus jewish alliance who tipped me off a few days ago about the link situation...she told me that there is much hatred for jews there and this rift between this muslim union is getting more sympathy because of the political correctness on campus about muslims being profiled and looked down at. Oddly enough it was a friend from University Of South Florida who told me that some of the same problems they are facing on her own campus with the muslim love and jew hating are going on at C-U.

One example is the Georgia Tech Muslim Student Association website. Click on "Truth" and follow the links for an eye-opener.
