Maryland General AssemblyV, In the spring of 1996, Maryland joined the ranks of other third world governments that have to use taxpayer funds to bribe business to move into, and to stay in the state, and having the benefits of the military as a police force, when the General Ass embly thatvoted the above bill into law along with a number of "packaged" bills, {I've only been able to find two legislators who KNEW they had done this} and the Governor {Glendenning} signed this monstrosity into law on the 14th of May 1996 as shown above.

By "affecting" the "Militia" article, they defined the National Guard as "militia". The bill can be accessed HERE It would be a good idea to check legislation in ALL states for this abomination. Peace and love, George.
Yes. It worked well when everybody in America was a true American in spirit.
Is anyone familiar with this and do they know how to find it?
Among other things it literally mobilizied the entire population into a militia by means of issued armbands which met the requirement for an "identifiable" organized military under the protocols established by the Geneva Convention.

Thanks, vannrox. WRT the above, if the organized militia can't produce sufficient forces to meet the threat, then the call goes out to the unorganized militia. And they had better show up, too, or be subject to military justice.
But when they show up, would they be trained in firearms, let alone would they have personal arms in their possession? I noted that the cities and towns of Massachusetts have a statutory duty to provide outdoor firing range facilities for small-arms practice. Gee, I don't think my town does. I can't think of any town that maintains a public firing range for citizen firearms practice. I guess we are just condemned to be a highly ineffective unorganized militia if we are ever called up in an emergency.
Of course, one could always join the local gun club. Which is what I did. Thanks again for the enlightening post. best, bb.
