BTW I should have added
I attended an all boys Catholic HS (50-54) And had a Priests for all my teachers except for one ( history teacher was the football coach ) We had over 20 senior sections and over 1000 in the graduating class.

Teenage kids talk and there was ABSOLUTELY NO rumors of any hanky panky going on. I could not think of any of the priests that would seem homosexual. We had a couple of weirdos and several boozers but that was about it

Things sure as hell went down the drain in 50 years

I went to a Jesuit high school twenty years after you, 71-75. IMHO, the older established priests were very solid, your Spencer Tracy Mass and boxing types. Solid, good men. But half of the younger priests, newly out of the seminaries, were of the Liberace mold.

At this time, our faculty had done away totally with the dress code, had us out on the streets protesting the war, and was very much into left wing 'liberation theology'. There was a literal power struggle betweent the generations of Jesuits, and the young priests won the battle at least during the 1970s, the older priests were forced to submit to the teaching of the new ideology by the younger priests.

I can only conclude that the same seminaries that were turning out left wing hippie priests had also been infected by the "gay liberation movement" since they were radicals in every other way.
