Forgiveness is the most expensive of all human emotions. Jesus gave it - at a great price to Himself. It is also the most valuable.

But forgiveness requires repentance. I heard Jane Fonda dind of apologize once on Baba Wawa's show. But it seemed like a Bill Clinton "apology." To this day, I do not believe she understands the full magnitude of the torture inflicted upon those men because of her vile behavior.

But, nothing will be done. If we were to hang all the traitors in the US -- there would suddenly be a lot of empty parking spaces in California and New York.

Her comment about Snow Bunny, and Snow Bunny's confrontation of Hanoi Jane is legendary and bears her re-telling.

You are correct that forgiveness requires repentance; and I agree she is unrepentant.

The book discusses her run-up to the 1972 trip. It involves going to Paris, marrying Roger Vadim, being immersed in the Communist propaganda of his circle of friends, the uncritical acceptance and glorification of the propaganda of the Black Panthers--and of course going from being the inflata-party-doll "sex goddess" of Hollywood to becoming the inflata-party-doll traitor icon of Hollywood.

I believe Jane Fonda has found God and one of the reasons I believe that is that she has not used that fact to excuse her past actions. She seems to be honestly trying to follow Christ and not fall into the trap that other celebrities have who found "religion" and then Holywoodized their experience. She has been relatively quiet about it and from what I have learned from other sources in the Christian media this is because other Christians have come along side her to help her grow in her faith. They know the temptations that can trip up a public figure when they find Christ and are trying to protect her. As for her not apologizing publicly, maybe that will come. My suspicion is her feelings of shame and remorse go deep and she needs to be ready to go public with her repentance. I know her crimes were serious, but I also know that if her faith is real God has forgiven her. Pray for her, don't condemn her.
