Has there been anything like this scandal with respect to Catholic nuns? And, if not, why can't nuns be elevated, as nuns, to a higher position of responsibility in the Catholic Church -- and lead a parish? I'm sure there is some reason someone will quote from the Bible why this can not be so, but, it seems to me this should be considered. The "men" have really let down Catholics in a big way here.

A parish is for a pastor to run.

"why can't nuns be elevated, as nuns, to a higher position of responsibility in the Catholic Church -- and lead a parish?"this is a very common practice, especially in liberal dioceses. The problem is that most of these nuns are feminists. By and large, the only place you will find traditional, faithful nuns in full habit is in deeply cloistered convents. Mother Angelica's monastery is home to cloistered Poor Clare sisters.

I hate to tell you this, but the nuns still in the Roman Catholic Church (in America) are radical feminists, pro-abortion, and often lesbian. My professor, a former nun teaching at Notre Dame, wrote in her dissertation that lesbian relationships were common in various orders. That was stated as casually as if she had mentioned that some still wore habits. So I don't think a regiment of nuns will solve any problems.
