A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 3/27/02

President Bush signed the controversial Campaign Finance Reform bill today as Mitch McConnell immediately filed suit against it. Bush later headed to South Carolina where he spoke to Emergency First Responders in Greenville. He also stopped in Atlanta, Georgia at the Georgia Tech Institute of Technology where he watched drills demostrating response to terror attacks. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

I wish the House and Senate majorities who claim to represent the 'majority' in the country would receive half the 'heat' the President gets on this issue. If the people we elect to represent us, don't represent us, who's the FOOL? Certainly not the President. How can a Congress, sworn to uphold the Constitution, pass unconstitutional measures? It is the function of the judiciary to determine constitutionality, which will happen. The President 'lobbied' from his 'bully pulpit' that this bill not be passed because it was a 'bad' bill, in his opinion. The representatives of the people disagreed. If the Court finds it unconstitutional, will we re-elect the same representatives? If so, shame and misfortune be upon us. We, the people, are to deal with the 'LEGISLATIVE PROBLEMS'.

It showed many greetings between the pets and the Bushes after short separations, and it showed such love between the animals and the Bushes.

Thanks for the ping, Republic. I wish I had seen this segment. Hearing about it is almost as good though!

Is it possible to love these wonderful people any more than I already do? Heavens no!

And judging from his stellar performance thus far, this President is headed for greatness.

I couldn't agree with you more! There is nothing I love more than to find a thread where you give us your two cents worth! You are beyond talented, John!

President Bush has accomplished SO MUCH in a little over 1 year in office, despite the attacks, the obstructionism, and the efforts by the leftists to sidetrack him on numerous issues. One thing I truly like about him is his self-discipline and his personal habit of exercise...now, I am exercising again because if our President can put in a half hour a day to work out, surely what excuse do I have not to? And, as he stated the other day, we can help our own health care by exercising and taking care of ourselves! GO President Bush!

You know when it was first suggested that G.W. Bush would be running for President I was very much against it and said that if he does I would not vote for him, but I have since changed my mind and will definitely vote for him again in 2004.

He is my President

"I will continue to support the President, I trust him and I WILL vote for him in 2004. So do I"

It has been rather disquieting for me to come on these threads recently and see the disruption that has been going on when, more than ever, President Bush and our Nation's military needs our support. Another soldier has died in Afghanistan and some pathetic jokers have been spending their leisure time attacking the Commander in Chief! They are trying to hurt the morale of the supporters of President Bush. They, and their craven friends in politics and the media have tried to hurt Dubya's popularity with the American people but have failed miserably. President Bush is a BELOVED man. Many of the teachers that I work with have mentioned to me recently how much they respect him and are thankful that he is our President. (and they will be voting for him in 2004) Some of these teachers are died in the wool career liberals but still, they love and respect our President. Then, there are the teachers who laid low during the nineties, and did their best, looking for the day that Clinton would be gone. (and all of his and Hillary's idiotic educational policies) I think this is just another attempt by the uninvited party crashers to hurt President Bush and dampen our enthusiasm. It hasn't worked for me. President Bush is an outstanding, wonderful, excellent and humble leader and we can all be proud to be supporting him. Party on dear Dosers and it is time for some toasts to our President, the First Lady, and the U.S. Military.

Well said! I don't think the party crashers will ever succeed in dampening the enthusiasm on the Dose. 3 CHEERS for our President, First Lady and the U.S. Military!!!

Don't you think this is rather odd, this sudden group of new people who are ALL so incensed with CFR? Especially since this wasn't even on the public's radar screen, but when Bush gets ready to sign it, BINGO, they are all here incensed about what was formerly a non-issue? What is your explanation?

You're kidding, right?

It's "suddenly" on the radar screen because for the first time it passed the House and Senate, and because for the first time the President of the United States indicated he would sign it. Until now, since there was NO THREAT it would pass, many conservatives weren't particularly engaged in the issue (though some, including Rush, WERE).

That seems entirely obvious, and I must admit being puzzled that someone so obviously astute as yourself would reach for a bizarre conspiracy theory instead.

This issue has been on Rush's radar screen FOR YEARS. He is passionately interested in it, always has been. You may not agree with him, and may be pained by Rush's criticism of President Bush, which is fine. But please, let's stay on the merits, shall we?

Rush's positions are ALWAYS, one hundred percent of the time no exceptions, based on what he ACTUALLY THINKS. He doesn't give a RIP what anyone else says, thinks, writes, pontificates (as far as pressuring or influencing him), when it comes to forming his opinions.

Fair enough. If you look, I said later in the thread that I had allowed my anger to color my perception. I STILL have questions about all the callers, and of the sudden appearance here of so many of the GENERAL PUBLIC who apparently didn't care a hoot for this bill until it came to a vote, and then they don't scoriate the CONGRESS, only the President.

By the way, although Rush is saying what he thinks, in this instance he is not assessing the entire situation correctly, in my opinion. But then, I am, on rare occasions, incorrect, as I stated above and unlike some of the people who have shown up here recently, I admit when I was wrong.

A MUCH better approach. Now THAT is the Miss Marple I know and love!

Let free speech reign in the arena of competing ideas. Which is why CFR is a very worthy debate.

Just want to remind you that Rush talks about "seminar callers" and I believe we ALSO have "seminar posters."

They probably work out of the same boiler room. Ha!
