I will caption that pic.

I want to guarantee every one of you, that while I cannot promise to protect your right to free speech, I can assure you that I will make every effort to keep you employed by breathing life into the dieing War on Drugs by defrauding the public into thinking that fighting the War on Drugs is a necessary part of fighting terrorists.

McCain, Jeffords and ENRON were responsible for the existence of CFR in its present form.

Folks, this bill HAD to go to the Supreme Court NOW while we still have enough Justices on it who value the Constitution, and settle this issue for the future. So, it is probably just as well that the process has begun.

To defend the Constitution from all sorts of assaults, we need to have our appellate judges confirmed. Currently half of the appellate court was nominated by Clinton.

I believe Bush had to make a decision to keep himself in a position where he could fight for a majority Senate for the second half of his term, a position that will allow him to appoint the appellate judges and Supreme Court Justices that are philosophically minded to defend the Constitution.
Remember it is going against an historic trend for a President to increase rather than decrease his support in the Congress during the off year elections.

If we don't get a majority Senate, the Democrats will block all his best appointments.

Like the Vietnam War, this was a damned if you do, damned if you don't decision in terms of consequences. The President made a tough call, one a lot of people aren't happy with, and time will tell if the strategery will work the way he is praying.

Just came by to say thank you for the daily dose, and stick my head in the sand. Maybe I'll drink a little koolaid while I'm here, if there's any left. (-:

May God Bless President Bush!

I believe individual freedom to participate in elections should be expanded, not diminished; and when individual freedoms are restricted, questions arise under the First Amendment.

I wish he'd have stopped with simply that.

I enjoy this daily thread so much and have since you first started posting
it. I've never told you thanks before but I want you to know how delightful it usually is and I look
forward to it. I haven't been reading any other posts lately in order to keep my blood pressure under control.
I'm sorry to see all the Richard Craniums have crawled out from under their rocks lately to contaminate
this thread. I think you're very gracious to not lose your cool. Now I think I
will go in the back yard and scream at the top of my lungs to get the bad taste of all these disrupters out of my mouth,
have a glass of wine and go to bed. I'll be back tomorrow, though.

I think Dubya laid out in the statement quoted, exactly the plan to take care of this piece of legislation. I believe he was put into a political corner by both the DemoncRATS and by the media/McCain connection.Very well, they may be on first base with this travesty but I do believe the homer will be hit by our side. Do I like CFR? No.Do I think Dubya had a choice? Yes,bad ones. DO I think he realized the political fallout from not signing it outweighed the desires of the "principled" ? Yes. I think that CFR will burn in the harsh light of Judicial review.

RWP, thanks again for the terrific photos of President Bush .

I haven't the serenity to skim the first 375 posts but want to comment (at the risk of repeating someone) that Jim Angle said that some CFR supporters were 'miffed' that the signing was done without an audience as Dubya was going out the door. (BWWWWWAAAAAA) And I spotted that clip thingie on his ring during a news show.
