This should be the new "talking points" for Conservatives! The liberals have painted us as mean-spirited, we should now paint them as being "anti-American."

I'm an Ann Coulter fan, and I agree with her substantive positions almost all the time, but I don't think she's doing herself or the cause of freedom any good by slathering generic "liberals" with vitriol. A lot of good and decent people still style themselves as liberals. If we want to have a shot at opening their minds, we should refrain from demonizing them, except in those specific and blatant cases where particular evildoers can be identified and held up for objective condemnation.

Conservatism ought to be above this sort of thing anyway. Aren't we supposd to be the better-behaved bunch?

It would be impossible for Coulter to sort out the liberals into the good and decent people and the anti american crowd. If Ted Kennedy would tell Walter Cronkite he is all wet, then Ted could be good and decent for the day. They need to do it for themself.

Excellent observation. And why, you may ask? Because that's their safety zone where they can't be and won't be criticized, by liberals or conservatives all shaking in their panties lest they themselves be accused of being "RACIST!" Works every time!
