At Yahoo... the eventual move will be to charge for forwarding to your POP, preventing users from "evading" advertising.
What will providers such as Earthlink do?

It will be free unless you use it to check home e-mail or other e-mail (POP mail). I do use it for that and won't be doing so once they make me pay. But, you can still use Yahoo to send and receive mail for that account.
