The result of a massive purge of homosexuals from the priesthood would not be hour drives to receive the sacrements, as Sinkspur claims. It would mean that the US would become a mission country served by priests from Africa, India and the Far East. Personally, I would much prefer this course to our present situation or part-time married clergy.

Married priests in the Catholic Church TODAY are NOT part-time! How many times does that have to be told to you before you get it?

American Catholics will not tolerate becoming a "missionary country" when it doesn't have to be. Besides, does Africa have 10,000 clergy to spare? I doubt it.

You can continue to repeat it until you're blue in the face - it won't make it true. By definition, a priest who is married with a family is a part-time servant of Christ's flock. It's not a put-down, it's fact. It's an additional, unnecessary complication in the life of an individual who's already got thousands of brothers and sisters looking for his aid, comfort, advice, forgiveness, and the sacraments.

American Catholics will not tolerate becoming a "missionary country" when it doesn't have to be.

Maybe you won't but I will. Don't appeal to the people as if you speak for all of them. It only weakens your argument further.

Besides, does Africa have 10,000 clergy to spare? I doubt it.

Maybe. Maybe not. I pray that God sends more harvesters. I also predict that if the proper measures are taken and the homosexuals and modernists are purged from the Church in America, the vocations 'crisis' will fade into history rapidly.
