also, IIRC the liberator, while a neat idea, was never dropped in any quantity in the european theatre- some were dropped in Philippines, but that was it.

Great article, but you need to send it to every newspaper "letter to editor" address you can find. There is no hope of educating the anti-gun leaders. The simple reason is they already know it. Many rank-and-file anti's may be as misguided as you say you were in your teen-age years. But the leadership is not and you can prove that by simple logic: Every anti-gun group puts out an official line that is based on willful false information. At some level in their organizations the altering takes place. It is possible that the blue-haired food-people at the bottom believe it. It is not possible that the people making up the misinformation believe it. Bottom line: At the leadership level the anti-gun movement is detrimental to public safety and they know it. It is intentional. Pass a law INTENDED to make the problem and then demand that it be strengthened and more brutally enforced to address the problems it exacerbated in the first place. Worked for Hitler, Stalin and has shown great promise for Schumer and the like. Kristalnacht was only the "zero-tolerance" application of an earlier group of gun-control "for the children."

The athletic-looking young man is trapped between his killers in the front seat of his own car. They are using his bank card to withdraw $200 to buy drugs. He is about to be taken to a lonely piece of woods a half-hour away and killed and buried under some leaves because he is a witness. (These particular murderers have been in prison a dozen times because they left witnesses.)

The look on his face is one of hopeless, helpless, tragic sorrow. (I've seen it before, at the First Million Mom March, in Poland in 1936, on the faces of naked women and little girls just before policemen machine-gunned them and left them in mass graves.

The debate about "gun control" begins and ends with these senetences. No more need be said, no more discussion is necessary.

The reason Brady et al. want "gun control" is that they want to control all the guns. Because whoever controls the guns controls whomever don't.

They fear things like expansion of CCW not because they're afraid they might make crime go up, but because they're afraid it will make crime go down. This is a very common pattern with liberals, btw; they fear school vouchers not because they might fail, but because they would succeed.

Any time you're dealing with liberals, you need to recognize that there are not two political classes in this country, but three:

1. Those who wish to be controlled.
2. Those who wish to control themselves.
3. Those who wish to control others.

Note that category #1 and #3 are both liberals, and yet they are in every other sense the exact opposite of each other. Any time you wish to talk to liberals, you should ascertain whether they are of type #1 or #3. If type #3 you should recognize that there is no need to prove the wrongness of their position, for they already know themselves to be lying.

Now then, ask yourself whether the VPC seems like #1 or #3?
