I trust this is hyperbole.Anyway, Things do get covered up. The superintendent of our local public school district procured an illegal abortion for his (minor)daughter in the 1930s. In theory, he should have gone to jail, especially since he took her out of state and she nearly died. Nothing happened. No one ever brought charges.
