AMERICA'S FRIENDS
does it have any? By Dorothy Anne Seese Published 04. 8. 02 at 17:41 Sierra Time |

Just perusing headlines about the Middle East is frustrating and at times infuriating. However the most infuriating news does not come from the Middle East nations per se, but from the wishy-washy policies in Washington, D.C. and from the vacillation of President Bush and his increasingly liberal stand on foreign policy. (Not to mention his increasingly liberal stand on domestic policies that are allowing American freedoms to erode into the sea and globalist goals to take precedent over our Constitution and basic freedoms guaranteed in the Bill of Rights.) The past twenty or thirty years of media verbiage about a "Palestinian state" apparently has the world a bit confused. There never was such an entity. Never. That's right, NEVER. There was a region, an area, called Palestine under the Ottoman Empire and under the British Mandate. It was a rather useless, arid, unproductive land of Arab nomads and some settlers, a few Jewish faithful who collected at the Wailing Wall, the last standing remnant of Herod's Temple as described in the New Testament. It was a land where Christians made pilgrimages and the Catholic Church maintained some "holy" sites, such as the Church of the Nativity. (For most Protestants, there are no real "holy" sites because Jesus Christ was born, lived, died, rose from the dead and is returning again ... we are the temple of the Holy Spirit. "Holy" sites should have historical interest, nothing more, as we do not worship objects.) Since May of 1948 there has been a Jewish state in the region that was called Palestine, carved out of the land by United States, British and United Nations "diplomats" with utterly no sense of land use or urban development, land management or historical boundaries. The way the state of Israel was structured by the UN under its Resolution 181 and the intervention of various foreign nations, there was bound to be trouble. Sure enough, there's trouble in the land, big time. We have "Palestinians" created out of media jargon because there wasn't much else to call them, they were and are Arabs, Muslims, living in the region that was known as Palestine. Jordan didn't want them. None of their Arab buddies wanted them other than to use them as leverage to protest the nation of Israel being on land formerly occupied by the Ottoman (Turkish) Empire. Oddly enough, the Turks seem to be the least vocal about who occupies this former Ottoman region of Palestine. However, in New Testament times, that land was a Roman province called Judea because it was occupied by Jews. The Jewish capital, from the time of King David, was Jerusalem and its spiritually significant section called "Zion." I don't know how many Americans study any history before they form conclusions, or how many bother to check out what occurred in that land over the centuries, but actually, the Arab/Muslim people didn't even have a history or a religion involving "Palestine" or what was ancient Israel until they made themselves one out of the Koran, a publication dating back to the 7th century A.D., or some 600 years after the death of Jesus of Nazareth and approximately 1500-plus years after the time of Kings David and Solomon. Yes, Roman General Titus leveled the place in 70 A.D., but he didn't hand it over to the Muslims, because Muslims were still over 500 years in the future! As this article is being written, America's leadership has warned American citizens to stay inside their homes in Saudi Arabia, our great "friend" and major oil supplier. Iraq has blathered something about an oil embargo, and Muslims are demonstrating against Israel from the Atlantic shores of Morocco to the cedars of Lebanon and on into the sands of Damascus and beyond. No American citizen is safe in these oil-producing nations our US government considers its "friends." Friends don't kill your citizens. Americans in Pakistan were killed by Muslim terrorists while they attended church, but it was only a handful, so that can't stand in the way of our oil interests can it? Principle dies when there's oil money involved. Americans have been killed in Lebanon, Yemen, Pakistan, and on US soil ... but we still consider the Arabs our "friends." Somehow this doesn't compute, until the oil business is factored into the equation. OIL interests have dissolved America's former tradition for standing on principle. And it is this oil factor that the Arabs are using to crack America's government over the head with a gas pump and kick it in the rear bumper near the gas tank. Can Arabs have any use for a nation that doesn't stand by its principles? Does anyone? Do Middle Eastern nations understand anything other than war and victory, or war and loss? Americans tend to think in terms of strictly American provincialism ... what's good for us is good for the world. Until an Arab terrorist attack strikes, then individual American citizens go out and kill a Sikh because all turbans look alike. Our individual ignorance is no excuse for ignorance in Washington, D.C. Those people know who is behind the terrorism in the Middle East, the "terrorism" that George W. Bush avowed to fight until it was extinguished from the earth, yet ignores when it comes to the slaughter of Jewish people, in their own state of Israel, if it's likely to make our Arab oil partners angry. At the same time, the American government cautions all US citizens to stay in and away from Arabs if they are living in their nation. It has not cautioned all Arab people in America to stay indoors, away from US citizens. Something is definitely wrong with this picture. America knows who its friends are ... it can count them on the fingers of one hand when it comes to the Arab and other Muslim countries. The US may, just may, be able to count on Turkey. The rest are sworn enemies, and yet we lose American lives in Yemen, Lebanon, Pakistan and other Muslim nations, whimper about it a bit, and court their favor for oil, calling them our "Arab allies." Duh. History says there is no such thing as a Palestinian people or a Palestinian state, only Arab bedouins or settlers in a region someone gave that name. Their own people in other Arab nations won't let their refugees in and relieve their suffering because of pure hatred of Israel and the desire to use "Palestinian refugees" (rather than Arab settlers) as an excuse to drive Israel out of the land and hold Americans hostage over oil. If I had friends like the Saudis and other Muslim or Arab nations, I'd shoot the blighters and be done with it. If nothing else, America can just let Israel shoot the blighters, it's capable of doing it. The US has a long history of befriending its enemies and betraying its friends. Obviously our nation doesn't learn from history because it interferes with business. The US government doesn't mind interfering with the business of its own citizens by closing down their logging operations for a damned fish or an owl. It doesn't mind running its businesses out of the country because of its ridiculous environmental policies, bureaucratic red tape and massive tax labyrinths. It just minds interfering with those giant multinational businesses that are the core of its globalism, the mortal enemy of American sovereignty. You know the ones ... those big corporations that have betrayed America, its citizens, workers, taxpayers and the bedrock of America's middle class that defends its freedom as a nation. I suggest we give America's leadership to the Arabs (they aren't efficient anyway) and elect a whole new batch to go to Washington and run the nation the way the Constitution says it's supposed to be run. We do have a Constitution, don't we?

If you want on or off me Israel/MidEast ping list please let me know. Via Freepmail is best way.............
All too many people will simply say, "So? Excuse me, but the price of gas is going up, and I want to fill up before it goes up more...".
The arabs and oil businesses are yanking their chains and they can't see beyond the cost of their next fill-up.
Not only oil business, defense contractors as well.
It was Hillary who first uttered the words Palistinian State thereby legitimizing it in the American world. Thousands of Palistinians were ejected from Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and others, thereby becoming refugees. Israel invited Arabs to stay in Israel and prosper. Some did. Israel and the US will always be allies because it has to be so. We share the same idologies and politial freedoms.
Israel was a place to place refugee Jews after WWII, western Europe did not want them. Many came to the USA. It was a payback for near extermination. If the poverty in the Palistine is so horrible where the heck are the Arab leaders to help them build a solid economy? It is not on Israel to do this.
It would be lovely to be loved by the world at large, but we will never be loved as long as we are free, rich and have a strong resolve to stay so, as does Israel. Just look at what a mess western Europe has become. Those European Countries are shameful in thier lack of resolve and wishywashy behavior. They have forgotten thier schooling. There are so many Arabs living there now they are held hostage by the population. So much for diversity.
