The Dimolrats way of thinking is that anyone who has a job is wealthy and should pay a lot more taxes.

Anyone who has a job who is not a public/gubmint employee is rich. In a more realistic approach, anyone who has a job or business which does not automatically generate demrat votes. In rat eyes, the unemployed/welfare class have a job. It is to stay that way.

Wasn't there a movement a few years ago to allow only taxpaying citizens the right to vote? I seem to recall an Ad saying something about how ..."those who live at the expense of others should not be deciding how others live". Not limited to the rich, or the educated, or even the literate, just limited to those paying the bills.
I can't seem to find the ad now. Anyone else remember this or am I imagning it?

When 50 percent of Americans pay just 4 percent of the taxes, what sort of tax policies do you think theyre going to endorse on Election Day? Now that the tax code has resulted in fifty per cent of voters either paying very little income tax or none at all, the steady march to socialist programs has become self-fulling. Voters who don't have to pay the taxes are more than ready, willing and able to increase taxes, now they've become motivated to do it.
I think single best way to reduce the size of government is to eliminate withholding. If everyone had to write big checks at tax-time they might me much more aware of the cost of government. Withholding is invisible, and tax-time has come to mean "free money back" to an awful lot of people.

Agreed... right on point. Representation without taxation is just the same tyranny as the reverse, only more vicious.
by the way... you mispelled "self-fulfilling". :-)

The other way to say it: When Mary robs Peter to pay Paul, she'll always have Paul's vote.

I got married in 2001 and will be filing jointly for the first time. Which means we became wealthy when we married. Woo-Hoo.
