Tanzania ferry tragedy 'kills 100'

At least 100 people are feared dead after a ferry capsized in central Tanzania, state-owned radio has announced.

About 150 people were reported to have been in the ferry, owned by the Tanzania Roads Company, when it sank, according to the acting police commander of Morogoro region.

The accident occurred at around 1400 (1100 GMT) on the Kilombero River, some 300 kilometres (180 miles) west of Dar es Salaam, according to the radio.

The acting police chief, Juma Kondia, told Radio Tanzania that four bodies had been recovered and that 20 people were injured, four of them reportedly in a critical condition.

Efforts to recover other bodies were continuing, he said.

Only a third Muslim. The rest are Christian and various native religions. Unless you are talking about Zanzibar, that is almost all Muslim.

Don't you mean Tanganyika is one-third Muslim?

I believe in calling people or the places where they live whatever they like to be called.
