According to Warner, there is a point where, as Thomas Jefferson said, the higher law of self-preservation must take over and an imminent danger must be controlled.

What Warner missed was that the "danger" Jefferson was referring to was people like Warner, and would be dealt with via the 2nd Amendment.

Read Jefferson's words. That's not what he said. He said sometimes it's sensible for government to break the law, and he gives examples(self-serving ones, at that).
