I assure you, the conservatives in this district do *not* sit home at election time. I contributed to Sunny Warren's campaign and worked on getting out the vote for her, here in north DeKalb (Dunwoody). I heard Sunny speak and answer questions from voters, and she was a class act. It's really a shame she wasn't elected.

Don't forget that this part of the 4th Georgia Congressional District used to be part of Newt's old 6th District, before the redistricting following the 1990 census. It was extremely painful going to bed one night represented by Newt, and waking up representing by Cynthia. I defy you to find a further-leftwards shift in political representation in a shorter time in American political history.

Cynthia is elected by the combination of blacks in South DeKalb staying on the Democrat plantation, combined with white limousine liberals from around Emory and neo-hippie leftists from Atlanta-in-DeKalb around the Little Five Points area and Decatur. Of the black group, many are successful buppies who, if they voted their economic interests, should be voting Republican. By way of example, I played ALTA tennis at Southland Country Club a couple of years ago, just south of Stone Mountain. 2500 sq. ft. two-story brick federals with two car garages holding late model Lexuses, BMW's, and Tahoes, in a golf country club community. Probably 85+% black neighborhood, and it's far from the only one like it in South DeKalb.

Former DeKalb resident bump. I used to play ALTA tennis (in C) back in the late 70's. Lived at LeMans apt and ate at ElToro's at least 3 times a week. That was when there were only I and II. aaahhhhh the good old days

This one might be a toss-up. :-) In the 1991 redistricting we went from Bill Archer's TX 7th CD to Craig Washington's TX 18th CD (now Sheila Jackson-Lee's).
