I believe the topic was Executive Orders, but never mind. I'll take a look at this list. The results of some of these actions may surprise you, especially the replacement for Mr. Dombeck. It ain't what you think.

Most people don't understand that banning logging on federal lands is in the interests of the largest corporations in the timber industry. The unspoken and tuly largest problem with the National Forests is that they produce TOO MUCH wood for anybody to use at a price that pays for the removal. Logging the National Forests would depress prices that Georgia Pacific, Weyerhauser, International Paper, Simpson, and the other giants get for their wood. That's why AlGore and Dombeck let it burn. It was a payoff to the timber industry.

Banning logging on Federal Lands also puts smaller mills out of business. That reduces competition. If anybody here thinks that Mark Rey is going to change that policy in the short term, they are mistaken. So what does he do instead? He lets the RICOnuts tar him with the "timber industry" brush in order to play to people like Howlin and his freinds laugh all the way to the bank. The nation's bug-infested forests continue to rot and burn soon to be overwhelmed by weeds.

The environment is too important, too profitable, and too complex to let it be controlled by government. There is an alternative.

Howlin, It's interesting that you would post that list from this site --- Red Pepper March 2002.

Is it part of your job to read what jr. is up to according to UK sites so you can attempt to prepare defenses?

"In practice, they are sometimes little different from the Dems"

Sometimes? When Clinton was in and he pulled some of his stuff the yelling about it was horrendous. With Bush in he gets a pass on nearly every unConstitutional move he pulls.

Who crammed the US Patriot Act thru?
