I recall somewhere that it was once agreed, that the palis would recind certain articles, the effect of which would be recognition of Israel's right to exist.
Could someone provide me with the basis, in international law, for this document? Is there something in the UN charter giving legal weight to separation movements? To illustrate: If the Bretons in France were to decide to take a couple of provinces, and form a country--would the UN give them legal standing (I doubt France would)?

All I have ever heard were back door admissions, not outright recission of these articles. Agreeing publicly with a UN resolution, that would imply they had sort of rejected certain articles, in arafat's form of doublespeak... is NOT the same as outright: WE WERE WRONG. WE MUST REJECT OUR CLAIMS TO ISRAEL'S SOVEREIGN TERRITTORY... WE WILL CEASE AND DESIST ALL EFFORTS TO REGAIN WHAT WE THOUGHT WAS OUR HOMELAND AND REJECT FOREVER THE "RIGHT OF RETURN" ISSUE.
Right of return, as you know is ONE issue tha pallies have NEVER agreed to drop and has become the code word for all the articles you just selected. Until they reject the right of return as a primary aspect of their national foundation, the palestinian state, will be nothing but a staging grounds for "final implementation" of those articles, in their brute force, against the "zionist entity."
The scary thing is, MOST of the arab world, supports this charter as is.
There can be NO palestinian state on THIS side of the Jordan... IMO.

It would be funny to do that "I am an american" commercial, with it changed to "I am a palestinian" and show all the people who qualify...
The whole concept of "Palestinian" is make belief.
The proof is that by the criteria in Articles 5 and 6, defining who is a "Palestinian": I fit. I am a decendant of generations of "Palestinians".
