There is footage in the Oscar nominated Waco documentary of Chuck Schumer conceeding that it is possible (and likely) that some of the ATF/FBI actions overstepped their bounds. "But" that it did not negate the actions of those within the compound.
The government's official position was that the FBI/ATF did no wrong.
Mainstream press held to the party line.
When they admitted that they knew that they used incidiary devices, there were again claims of "this is not an issue" even though they long denied it. The press refused to take them to task over it.
Different case but it shows the deceipt.
All of these things accumulated (and the other things of which we remain ignorant) surely add up to a desperation in X42's and the co-X42's minds as the election of the Concealer in Waiting slipped away.
