Actually, I agree with the principle of what you are saying. You have not explained WHY you started right off with a canned question like "why is it wrong to bash Israel" even though, as a veteran freeper, you should know better.

A term like "Israel-basher" recalls the term "Clinton-bashing", which was used to imply automatic wrongness when one said anything uncomplimentary about Bubba. To me it carries the connotation that criticism of Israel is by definition, wrong. The best way to expose an attempt to condition by implication is to question its reasoning and let those who hold the basic assumption defend it.

I reread what I wrote and it does sound angry. It wasn't written in anger, just in haste. I had to leave and wanted to get the response posted. Questions are the most efficient among reasoned responses. Ask Appy Pappy; you can communicate a lot with a question.

Never? But the original post was to expose a basic assumption held by the partisans out here, not to address a specific issue.

Any time I get lonely for conversation all I have to do is go out on an Israel thread and imply she is not perfect in every way and get visitors all day!
