We should be fearful because it's the truth. Let me tell you two things that happened before I recently escaped Kalifornia for NC...
The first was a little chat with a slightly tipsy Asian neighbor. She flat out told me to my face that lots of Asian women "pretend" to be submissive before they hook American men. Then, after marriage, "they turn into Connie Chung." She thought that was hilarious; I thought it was sad.
During a discussion about the flood of illegals into the Southwest (at which discussion I was made to feel like an ignorant racist), an American-born, highly educated man of Mexican descent said to me, and I quote: "Your people [European caucasians] stole this land [Southwest US] from my people [Mexicans] and we're getting it back by sheer numbers." He thought that was justice; I think it's a bloodless but neverthless potentially victorious "war."
Someone (ppaul, I think) said that the Arabs in NC are "few in number." All I can say is we must keep it that way for as long as possible and thank God for small favors. I moved here to escape life in a 3rd world country such as CA has become, but I'm giving this area about 10 years before it becomes yet another province of Mexico, or Saudi Arabia, or China, or [fill in the blank].
Beach Babe: It's beyond frightening. Frightened was how I felt in CA about 12 years ago. I know. I was there.
I'm only able to hope for a holding back of this tidal wave for as long as possible, but GWB (I volunteered for his campaign and am becoming increasingly disappointed--an understatement of Biblical proportions!) does not believe there's a problem, 911 notwithstanding. Our government did not move quickly enough after 911 IMHO--the borders should have been closed immediately, all illegals, visa overstayers, felons and fugitives rounded up and sent home, and all applications of foreigners who entered the country in the last 5-10 years reviewed before re-opening the borders with new and very strict standards that are enforced.
I might as well just dream on....
