You realize that FR is a hot bed (ironic term) of Bible thumping homophobia.

It's good that many homosexuals see that leftist ideology is bad for them and everyone else. To the extent that they reject that ideology, they are welcome allies. However, the benefits of marriage should not be extended to homosexual partners. Private companies are welcome to offer them all manner of "domestic partnership" benefits, but our government should not recognize homosexual partnerships as marriages.

Bump. I'm all for less marginalization of people with similar goals...

As long as she supports all the Republican party planks, such as being pro-life, that marriage is between one man and one woman, etc. I say welcome aboard.
If not, she is a fifth columnist in the Republican party.

People like this Cheney we do not need, her belief that gay marriage is a critical and unnegoitable issue already dooms her. She is at best, a RINO at worst, something far sinister. I always hear from these gay repubs, that they don't want any special treatment, they just want to be like everybody else, well, they're not like everybody else, if they think that being gay needs to be a special focus of there public persona. Hell Nader is as much a damn gay loving leftists as you'll find, but you don't see him talking about his lifestyle at all, whatever the hell it is.

"gay people come in all shapes and sizes, from all backgrounds and religions, and from every political shade and hue."
So do alcoholics.

I support homosexuals not being demonized or kept from jobs, simply because of their sexual orientation. But the right to legal "marriage", based only on what you do in the bedroom and with whom, is not acceptable. It is also, for me, non-negotiable.

This is going to get flamed and probably already has been. The way is view it, is if they realize that liberalism/socialism is bad and they realize that conservatism is the right track, then welcome. I am a conservative Catholic, but my approach to the matter is, don't tell me, I don't want to know. That being said, I don't feel being gay is a sin, but acting on it is. But it isn't my place to judge. As Jesus said, let he who is without sin cast the first stone, and well, I have sinned, so I won't judge them. God Bless
