Governor of Tennessee, has called up the Tennessee National Guard and has armed them with rifles and live ammunition in response to the Tennessee House Of Representatives suspending the House Rules in anticipation of a vote on the state income tax this evening.
This is very real. Governor Sundquist wants an income tax in the worst way and knows that he has to keep people from protesting the vote outside the State Capitol.
The vote will be some time this evening. House leader, Jimmy Naifeh a Democrat from Covington, TN, has told House members to be ready for a long night in session.
