The real reason is that these athletes have sacrificed much of their young adult lives practicing for hours on end at tennis, golf and other sports. They don't see why they should give half of a 10 million dollar bonus to the government, that has done nothing to earn that money. When I cashed out of my last business ownership, writing that check to Uncle Sam for half my take from building the business, was very painful and enraging. I hate the government for that.

I would think you would more appropriately hate the liberal politicians who wrote and voted for such confiscation of your hard-earned dollars. No doubt in my mind that Tiger and other high-earnings athletes feel that way too.
