Keep in mind that the Canadian dollar, appropriately nicknamed the "looney", is only worth, what, 72 cents?
So compare your taxation of, say, $C100,000 to $US72,000.
The picture comes out just a little different I'll bet.

72 cents? I wish this pastel junk went that far on Ebay.

Right now it's 63.94 cents US.

The picture comes out just a little different I'll bet.

The Canadian dollar ,in Canada, is worth 100 cents, the same as the US dollar in the US is worth 100 cents. The original post #66 comparing incomes in Calgary and Chicago is in local currency. Doesn't change the picture .
