LOL! They were grabbing the rats eating the grain, they even made an attempt at one of my hens once. A calf is a bit too big. Coyotes hang around pregnant cows, waiting until it's time and the cow is down. If the calf was separated, they might of taken it off to feast on it elsewhere.

Coyotes hang around pregnant cows, waiting until it's time and the cow is down. If the calf was separated, they might of taken it off to feast on it elsewhere.

That was my first thought. The coyotes have come back big time in southeastern WI. The farmer said "no", but I think he'll find out diferrently.
