This weekend, Georgia Sen. Zell Miller will become the first Democrat in more than a decade to give the keynote address to the National Rifle Association's annual meeting.

The first-term senator has criticized fellow Democrats for failing to understand issues important to rural voters in the South and elsewhere, including gun rights. He contends that cost Al Gore the 2000 presidential campaign.

Wouldn't it be sweet if Zell chose to announce his party switch at that time? Oh, to dream....

OTH, the 'Rats know that their gungrabbing stance is not popular and have essentially decided to lie about it during the campaigns. Giving a 'Rat, even Zell, this opportunity may not be a good idea....

We'll take every pro-2nd Amendment Democrat we can get. May even stop calling them Democraps.

"CITIZEN CARRY FOR ALL 50 STATES RECIPROCITY IN ALL 50 STATES >"

That I like.

As to the 'Rats, my point is that they plan to lie about their stance on the 2nd Amendment to get elected....

NRA leaders say Democrats have been warming to their group

Which sounds more realistic to everyone:

1) The Dems are using some of their money to pay for nice dinners and such with "top NRA leaders."

or

2) The Dems are cooperating behind closed doors with "top NRA leaders" to hash out the best strategy to repeal all Federal gun control legislation that has been enacted beginning in 1934.

When the Dems do the latter, I'll consider voting for them. Of course, by that time the Arabs and Israelis will love each other, our taxes will have been cut by 85% and Hell will have long since frozen over.

Zell Miller should quit the Demoncrap Party, because he'll never rise to a leadership position there. There's plenty of room on the other side of the aisle (in fact, there's the old Jeffords chair, still slightly warm).

Zell will never switch; he'd retire instead. Those of us who know ZM from way back know that he will never cross over to the GOP. He's just teasing Republicans and laying the groundwork to dazzle the south Georgia hicks, should he decide to stay in the US Senate in 2004. Those of you holding your breath for "zig-zag-Zell," as he is less than affectionately known by us Peach State residents, will suffocate long before Milly jumps ship.....

That would be a mistake. The right to keep and bear arms will be most affected by changes in the Supreme Court. These will only aid gun rights if the Senate is controlled by Republicans who can confirm conservative justices.

Yes, the Dems will lie and I hope pro-gun folks realize this, because when they have complete power they will take away our guns. Or at least try.

I know that - I never expect to vote Dem, as evidenced by what I said:

"When the Dems do the latter, I'll consider voting for them. Of course, by that time the Arabs and Israelis will love each other, our taxes will have been cut by 85% and Hell will have long since frozen over.

Believe me, I've got no illusions about the Democraps.

"Texas Rep. Martin Frost was the last Democrat to give a keynote address at the NRA's national convention, in 1991."

That would be the same Marty Frost who Gun Owners of America give
an 'F' rating
for voting against the Second Amendment at EVERY opportunity!
