According to a recent poll by Scott Rasmussen Public Opinion Research, 36 percent of Americans believe that Al Gore really won the last presidential election, but only 23 percent believe the country would be better off today with Gore in the White House.

A slight majority, 52 percent, disagree with the statement that the former Vice President won the last presidential election, while 12 percent aren't sure. A larger majority, 56 percent, believes that the country is better off today with Bush as president, while another 12 percent say it would be pretty much the same with either man in office.

The findings are from a national telephone survey of 1,000 adults conducted on April 22 and 23. The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95 percent level of confidence.

The survey also found that 55 percent of Americans now believe that George W. Bush is closer to their views on most issues than Al Gore. Thirty-six percent say that their views are closer to those of Gore.

The poll found that 58 percent of Americans say Bush is a better leader. Only 23 percent believe that is true of Gore.

Maybe this is so, but Rasmussen had a miserable record in the last election cycle.

From the society that lives in a fantasy world this is no surprise at all....and the economic recovery is kicking into full gear while the market tanks, gold and oil rise, inflation is just around the corner, and the Dollar broke key support levels today after years of run up

14.000% believe Kennedy didn't die...
31.000% believe we didn't land on the moon...

So, exactly which re-count did Gore win? I'm aware of counting the ballots 3x, and in each counting that I'm aware of; Gore lost.

This is the fascinating part since I think it illustrates the disconnect between the media's portrayal of Bush during the election and what people see for themselves.

I remember a few weeks after Bubba took office, all the liberals whined about the "Don't blame me, I voted for Bush" bumper stickers and how those people should just get over it. As usual, liberals don't practice what they preach.

The real headline should be: "63% Don't Believe Gore Won Election"

The reason these 36 % believe this abominable lie is because news outlets, even Newsmax and WND, did not do an aggresive enough job of pursuing the REAL election night story... the collusion between CNN and Voter News Service.

Here are a handful of unanswered questions that will never be pursued:

How is it that VNS was accurate in EVERY other state of the union, but WAAAAAAAYYY off on... Florida?

Why is it that the news media didn't call one single state for any candidate while the polls were still open, save for one... Florida?

How could these two amazing anomilies BOTH happen at the SAME time and in the SAME state... FLORIDA?

VNS projections had Gore"winning" Fla by 6.6 per cent... more than 400,000 votes!! No state's votes have ever been as meticulously counted and re-counted as Florida's have. We KNOW for a fact that it was very very tight. How could VNS projections be THAT far off?

How was Gore so ready with his telemarketers who called Florida Seniors within minutes of the results being in? How could he put his team of lawyers and spin doctors and chad counters on the ground in Florida so quickly if the post-election scam hadn't been planned in advance?

I could rattle off more questions, but, it's fruitless... we have to "move on". My point is, you can't blame the brain-dead liberals for thinking this. Their wrongheaded take on the election has never been countered by anyone asking tough questions of Gore, the DNC, VNS, and most of all, the media.

What a stupid survey. Rasmussen was a huge failure in 2000. He must be looking for work with Democrats.

But this poll doesn't mean much. Go to any public place where you can find cross section of the local population. Be sure to use general pubic and do not limit the poll to registered voters.

The Question is : Who won the 1980 Election, Jimmy Carter or Ronald Reagan. Betcha one hundred bucks 36 percent will say Carter, 52 percent REagan and 12 percent won't know.

Reagan won 44 of the 50 states over Carter in a landslide, but a 1/3 of the public will tell you Carter won.

Now a real tricky one. Ask the same people who won the Vice Presidency in 2000, Cheney, Lieberman or Rivero. About 1/3 will tell you Geraldo did.

the DNC, VNS, and most of all, the media
. . . a formulation which suggests that there actually is a difference rather than a mere distinction among those groups . . .

The question I have is, did any putative "Gore woulda won if the votes were counted" scenario include the counting of all the military absentee votes as required by federal court decision?

You're absolutely right. Military votes were thrown out on the smallest of technicalities. VNS CNN & DNC are just different nicknames for the same organization! :-)

Did you know that there are the same number of people with IQ's below 85 as the number of people with IQ's above 115? Interesting.

So those who supported Algore the lying cheat, feel as if they were the ones cheated out of an election.
Good. Let them feel that way. They deserve it.
