Dreadful indeed. It surprises me that they even record such data

You'd think they'd be afraid someone (like Larry Flynt,say) might get hold of the data and expose someone's medical history.

I'm bewildered,too, that the Nazis kept so many records of their activities in the death camps.

Maybe both groups are (were) so cold-hearted or blood-thirsty that they don't (didn't) realize they should be ashamed of murdering humans.

I think the textbook rhetorical Nazi response would have been:
"What humans?".

(as in the Nazi doctrine that Jews, gypsies, gays, bothersome Catholic and Protestant
clerics were "sub-human")
