April 28, 2002 -- JERUSALEM.
A 67-year-old priest, emerging from Bethlehem's Church of the Nativity, told Israeli officers that Palestinian gunmen inside had "no respect" for even for the head of the monastery.
"They stole his diamond-ornamented cross," he claimed.

A different version than what the media was reporting a couple of weeks ago--how the Pali's were nice men who ran into the Church to seek sanctuary from those meanie Israeli soldiers.

Man, this story makes my blood boil! Just today I read where Israel has FINALLY cut Arafat's electricity off. Unless they can scramble his cell phone so he cannot communicate with anyone, he'll be squeeling like a stuffed pig. Arafat and his fellow terrorists need to die suffering.

I don't pretend to know anything about this sort of thing, but why can't the Israelis fill the place with choloroform or some such gas and then go in and remove the scumbags?

The liberal, terrorist-loving media LIES! Only the NY Post and possibly FOX News would dare report this story. As for the NYT's, Washington Post, CNN and the other major news outlets, don't hold your breath waiting for them to change the Pro-Palestinian, anti-Meany Israeli angle. (Free Republic even has a few posters who continue to insist that Israel is the baddie here and that the Palestinians were only seeking "sanctuary" and are being "protected" by the good priests and nuns! They will refuse to believe this priest's story if it doesn't jive with their anti-Israel views.)
As for the UK, hah!!! Reuters, the BBC and the majority of news organizations there are still carping about the "massacre" in Jenin, as well as sticking to the "Poor-Palestinians-who-fled-into-the-Church-of-the-Nativity-to-escape-the-evil-Israelis-who-are-bent-on-destroying-the-Christian-Holy-Place" storyline.
Well, I'm off to church later this morning. Prayers for the Church of the Nativity and for those brave priests and nuns who have decided to stay in order to protect their holy site from evil men who follow a religion that exhorts them to deceive (LIE), loot from, enslave, forceably convert to their religion or murder the hated infidel in the name of their violence-loving god!!!

The biased media continue to kiss Arafat's a$$, trying to garner sympathy for the Palis. History be damned! The media has tried to rewrite the Israel section of the book. And, the dumbed down sheeple follow along. Disgusting!

They've intercepted messages from Yasser Arafat telling the gunmen in Bethlehem to stick it out. Why is Arafat regarded any differently from bin Laden?

That terrorist is probably wondering how many homicide bombs that diamond encrusted cross could pay for.

Yes, let's see what the apologists have to say now.
I hope the nuns' virtue is safe from these pigs.

I do hope these muslim thugs maquerading as freedom fighters are being thoroughly searched after they leave the church, either standing or horizontal...

...messages from Yasser Arafat telling the gunmen in Bethlehem to stick it out. This liberals will reject flat out. After all, Chairman Arafat is in isolation, is he not? (Just kidding.)
To: happygrl
I can't count how many times I've heard the Muslim Mayor of Bethlehem assuring TV news viewers that the clerics and nuns inside the Church of the Nativity are not hostages, but remain there voluntarily. The church building and all able-bodied servants who have a duty to maintain and protect it ARE hostages.

It's an Islamic thing. Remember Saddam's "guests" during the run-up to Desert Storm?

"Israel...has intercepted messages from Arafat telling them to stick it out." "Would somebody PLEASE shut this scumbag up?"!
This should put to rest the whiners who claim Arafat needs to be set free so he can get things done. Seems he's been quite able to get his message out to his slimeballs all along. But then you and I knew that, but the media and the Pali-sympathizers will never admit it.
