Didn't Drudge have a story a couple of weeks ago that some network military expert was going to be exposed as claiming credentials he did not have? I take it this is what he was talking about.

Sounds like Mr. Cafasso had been reading too many novels, seeing too many James Bond movies and doing a whole lot of lying. He has a real nerve claiming to have won the Silver Star.

Is there a picture of this guy? The name I recall, but I can't remember what he looked like ...

Are all these military media whores drama queens?

The New York Times must have been delighted to find and publish this story. But I wish they would clean up their own house first. It sounds as if Cafasso--even though he may be a con man--is a more reliable source than most of the reporters who work for the Times.

Not long afterward Mr. Cafasso began to work with the presidential campaign of Patrick J. Buchanan, helping it collect petitions in Texas and then in Oklahoma and Georgia.
How surprising...a worthless lying fraud working for a worthless lying fraud.

Presenting oneself falsely as US Armed Forces is truly one of the most pathetic acts one can do. Sadly, it happens far too often.

...and still, ever since the Attacks of Sept 11th, FoX News Channel refuses to employ a BOB DORNAN who is educating America about the threat Islam really poses to our Freedom on his Daily.. www.TalkRadioNetwork.com ..National Talk Radio Show....?

Shades of Fred Demara, "The Great Imposter" (as played by Tony Curtis in the film with the same name).
Heheh, I love it when the media gets bamboozled, even if it's Fox, sigh, giggle).

He made a monkey's ass out of all of those pompous military men -- thoroughly infiltrating their inner circles and pumping them for information to pass along to news --- but how much more was he told to keep confidential that he didn't share with the press -- but passed along to foreigners? Was he a spy?

A PFC in 44 days? He should have stayed in, he'd coulda been a four star in five years.

The executive added that Mr. Cafasso was hired because of his contacts, not necessarily his military background. "Joe was just plugged in everywhere," the executive said. "He appeared to be able to call almost any military base and have a friend there."
I wonder who this guy really is...I think there is a lot of deception and confusion. He may not be a weirdo folks...
I would bet he has no family, no wife, etc..
Get where I am going with this?
To: Pokey78
"He knew more about the military and the Pentagon than most reporters we deal with," Like that would be so difficult....NOT!

Holey Schmokes! This guy must have been some soldier.
I took BCT at Ft. Dix just a few years prior... But none of our guys ever made PFC in 44 days!
