It's really just plain common sense. Unfortunately, the archives of criminology and abnormal psychology, culled from centuries of experience in boys' boarding schools, boyscouts camping trips, prisons, navies of the high seas, and the confessional, have long known of the peculiar and unsavory affliction we have come to know as sodomy. It's not a pretty word. It's not a pretty thing. Hence, the exhortational biblical/apocalyptic language of moral classification, censure, and defilement suggestive of sulphur and brimstone. Since the act was frequently aggravated or the result of coercive abuse of a minor by an adult male, it was recorded as such in the relevant criminal codes.

Although modern science has since produced irrefutable evidence of the sanitary and hygienic hazards of violation of the rectal cavity - rectal lesions, AIDS, Heptatis - public discourse, manipulated by liberal cabals in big media and goofy Ivy League universities, has bent over to accomodate the PC-approved denial of these well-known dangers. If common sense and the healthy promptings of nature cannot keep the afflicted out of men's (or boys') backsides, perhaps a reconsideration of the relevant medical and anatomical data should. But even this may be an exaggerated optimism for the record of scientific progress and the peregrinations of public opinion in late postmodern Western civilization. At least the recent calamities of judgment and disasters of reason in the American Church have given a public airing to this dark and noisome side of sexual misadventure afflicting our culture. Perhaps moral clarity may gain some upper hand in the distant future with the assistance of divine Providence.
