Ronald Reagan was a social conservative, first and foremost. He believed in the conservative-republican agenda of smaller and more efficient government, along with tax reduction and reform. Reagan opposed abortion and legalizing prostitution. Reagan supported a strong military and a belief in America's criminal justice system, that dealt out old fashioned law and order to law breakers and drug offenders alike. Reagan presided over, the largest funding increases in the history of America's national drug control policy. That anti-drug policy led to significant reductions in illicit drug use, throughout America during the 1980`s and early 1990`s.

The current Libertarian Party Platform, has little in common with the conservative movement and "true" libertarian policy, has nothing in common with the conservatism of Ronald Reagan.

I didn't know I was required to agree with Ronald Reagan on all issues and matters.

As President, Ronald Reagan presided over, the largest funding increases in America's national drug control policy. Reagan's remarks, that adults should be permitted to legally ingest marijuana, will satisfy all the libertarian dopers. But if Reagan was so inclined to make marijuana legal, he could have issued an Executive Order removing marijuana from the list of controlled substances. He didn't. Nuff said.

I have no problem with zoning laws that regulate such property usage, so long as they reflect LOCAL community standards and are not imposed by state or federal authorities.

The feds are working diligently even as we speak to impose FEDERAL guidelines on your local zoning board. And they're going to use the same New Deal Commerce Clause that empowers the federal government to prohibit marijuana to do it.

Typical tactic of pro legalizer propaganda. Take a statement devoid of any actual transcript or context and declare it as a fact for their side.

This is called historical revision and the left is famous for engaging in it. It's why they think the consitution was written on hemp paper.

Sure it's a cut and dried statement. But that doesn't make it accurate. There's no quote, no transcript, just an interpetation made by some guy who's trying to sell a book.
