This is absolutely disgusting. Bush should be prosecuting him not sending him on a mission. He is going to lose the base that elected him.

He is already losing it. Every stunt like this he pulls loses him more of what is left. I think his handlers feel that conservatives will flock back to him when they see whom he is running against...prolly someone like Hillary Clinton.

Would you hold your nose and vote for Bush if Hillary was his opponant? I would not, but I think many people would. That is what they are counting on, IMO.

I agree with you
Also I think it's a stupid move
His goal is to sabotage Bush's administration
since he thinks that is way to get Dem elected prez in 2004 so he can rule behind his puppet
Before this he was former prez, won't this give him authority to speak to foreign leaders as rep for prez

You know, Doug, it seems to me as if bush is intentionally trying to get out from under his base and thinks he can attract enough democrats, McCaniacs and illegals that will fill the void.

Maybe there is enough time for a Conservative to step forward and fill OUR void.

He is going to lose the base that elected him.

I agree that this decision is disgusting IF it turns out to be true, and is a BIG mistake. But I disagree with your conclusion. The part of his 'base' that claims they supported him, but didn't listen to what he campaigned on, and expected him to be far to the right of where he actually is, has already abandoned him.

Those of us who support him enthusiastically will be (extremely) disappointed in this decision, but it will not, on balance, take away our support because of the incredibly positive things he has done since his Inauguration. He may lose some support, but not much.

The vast majority of the people in America will neither hear about this, nor care.
I don't think it will even be a blip on the radar screen.
