Rather than registering child support debtors, everyone taking a new job would be registered. This strategy eventually shifted to registration of everyone with a job, a social security number, a driver's license, a bank account, a telephone; anyone for which there is a source of information.

Give 'em a phony SS number when you get a new job (transpose two digits so it looks like a typo). After a month or two, when your profile has been sent to the national registry, tell your employer you noticed that your SS number is mistyped and should be corrected.

People are incredibly naive.

We already have telephones that can be opened for listening with four mics in them (Telephonic ringer, headphone, mouthpiece, and the area mic.)

Everytime you use a plastic grocery card or any credit card you "locate"yourself.

The latest law is that all calls must be locatabkle withing the nearest 150 feet.

We are already cattle, so why worry about "becoming" cattle.

Moooo....

The primary contractor for the database system was Andersen Consulting. The company broke from international financial services consulting firm Arthur Andersen, Andersen Worldwide this year and was renamed Accenture Ltd. Accenture is based in Bermuda, a well-known offshore tax and privacy haven.

Somehow, this seems appropriate.

Can I get mine tatooed on my forearm, or forehead, so that I could not buy nor sell without the number?

Too Late to Stop National ID

Isn't the whole point of fora such as FR to undo what would otherwise be "too late"? Yeah, it's too late, if you assume that we have to keep playing this stupid game every two and four years of letting the insiders choose our candidates for us and then pretend that we're exercising such free-thinking autonomy by dutifully picking which of their two stooges that we want. And then we act surprised when things continue to slide away from us?

I'm directing this comment to those who consistently argue that we have to "compromise" and keep sticking with the GOP no matter what they do. I want to hear from you. What say ye now?

Four billion dollars is a lot of money.

The author forgets that this is government we're talking about. They've got to pay for the extra benefits, diversity training, etc, etc.... Government $ just don't go quite as far.
