Many atheists can be good people. My opinion is that they are good because they take their morals from the religion(s) in their nation. It's hard to pass on a moral atheism to your children.
A religious education is more likely to morally educate.
The only thing religion can give that a clear-minded atheistic morality can't give is the "and if you don't, God will send you to hell!" threat.
