Gen 16:12 And
he shall be a wild ass of a man, his hand against all, and the hand of everyone against him; and he shall live before all his brothers.
And his offspring as well.

Fox News (I think) was doing a report on what was involved in starting new settlements in either Gaza or the West Bank. The footage showed a cluster of 5 or 6 trailor-looking living quarters, and they were talking about how this would grow into neighborhoods filled with houses.
What struck me was the background. For what appeared to be miles beyond, there was nothing, nothing but barren hills totally devoid of human life and very little vegetation. There most definitely were no 'Palestinians' there who could lay claim to being displaced.
It reminded me of something I had read, how in the late 1800's, today's Israel, was mostly barren and uninhabited. History indicates that it was the Jews who developed the land and made it desirable to nomadic Arabs who were drawn by the wealth created by the Jews.
So yeah, this article is absolutely right on!! Some cultures build, others leech.

Thanks for your post. While I agree with the thrust of the article, especially the debunking of some of the myths of Islamic cultural contributions, it is alarming to read some of the posts on here. "Worthless?" I don't know the poster's religion, but that statement is clearly refuted by Jesus. And the call to exterminate them? Wow. We have our own nutcases here on this forum.

Bush is trying to prevent a full-blown holy war.
Hell, if the Arabs wouldn't give Yassir and his bombers land, why should the Israelis?

UNRWA has surely been part of the problem. If you go to the UNRWA website, you will see how proud they are of having fed, clothed, sheltered, educated and cared for the Palestinian refugees of 1948... and their children... and their grandchildren. The number of people UNRWA cares for has gone from 600,000 in 1948 to nearly four million today. Give a Palestinian fire and he will be warm for one day... but set him on fire and he will be warm for the rest of his life!

Why don't our "leaders" ask the same question?

Palestinians flew planes into the World Trade Center??? Oh, I see, they're all the same; right? All 3 million Palestinians.
That's an old trick, to paint an entire people with a broad brush. Hitler did that with the Jews and other non-Aryans. I'll bet there were some non-Aryans who did some very evil things, thereby giving him the excuse, in his warped mind, to consider them all vermin and treat them all as such. There are muslim extremists, of the al Qaeda, Hamas, et al. terrorist type, who view Christians and Jews in exactly the same way.
But no matter who holds that view about other whole races or nationalities of people, we know where it comes from -- straight from hell (or Satan if you want to give it a name).

Dan, thanks for the ping ... interesting read, indeed.
Billybob, yet another lucid analysis of the situation and the best way to deal with it.

You must be an idiot. You wrote a diatribe aimed at someone who posted something basically on your side, and who wrote nothing even conceivably close to what you imputed. No wonder those societies are atavistic. I won't make that mistake again.
