Jimmy (The "Useful Idiot") Carter in Cuba
MSNBC, AP, CNN | 12 May 2002

Posted on 05/12/2002 9:23:08 AM PDT by CaptIsaacDavis

Mr. Jimmy Carter arrived in Cuba on Sunday. In the middle of a war on terrorism, and coming on the heels of press stories indicating that the U.S. government believes Castro's army has developed chemical and biological weapons, Mr. Carter chose to help legitimize one of the world's foremost promoters of state-sponsored terrorism and nuclear terror directed at the USA. JC can now add Castro to his list of brutal communist dictators that he has kissed up to (along with the former Kim Il-Sung of North Korea).

How quickly we forget!!! It was Castro who invited in Soviet nuclear weapons not for self-defense, but as we now know from Soviet archives and testimonies of former participants, because he relished the prospect of a nuclear war with the United States. We also know from a Cuban Air Force pilot who defected in the 1980s that he has plans to attack U.S. nuclear power plants in the event of a crisis with the USA. The United States has a group of Puerto Rican terrorists in prison in NY (the same terrorists that Sen. Hillary Clinton was manuevering to get released during her campaign), who are just a fraction of the hundreds of PR communist terrorists that Castro armed, trained, and financed during their campaign of terror in the United States during the 1970s. Never mind that there are also dozens of home-grown left-wing terrorists still sitting in U.S. prisons who worship Castro and Che Guevara. Castro is also the man who armed and financed many of the most vicious communist terrorists in Latin America, including groups our soldiers are STILL fighting against in cooperation with local militaries, e.g., Columbia's FARC.

The apologists for Castro say that he has "moderated" his support for international terrorism since the collapse of the Soviet empire. True, but only because he no longer has the resources or support to be so aggressive (and alienate needed trading partners in Latin America). His willigness to use terror as a means of promoting communist revolutions has NOT moderated -- as evident in the "unreformed" communist propaganda and indoctrination (including the idealization of Che) still imposed on the imprisoned nation of Cuba.

Maybe we'll get lucky and the bonehead will stay there. He could have built houses for them if socialism hadn't made it impossible for the stores to stock lumber. Or nails, or shingles or glass etc.

Mr. Carter...

Stagflation...
The fall of the Shah of Iran...
The Hostage Crisis...
21% interest rates ( no, I'm not kidding! )...
Cubans in Angola...
Unrest in Central America...
Gasahol...
A law forbidding the recycling of nuclear waste ( France has done it since the Oil Embargo without a hitch ) leading inexorably to the Yucca Mountain imbroglio...

... he just never quits giving, does he?

Actually, there are no stores. No nice little businesses at all. To start a business means imprisonment. You can spend hours in Havana looking for a place to buy as much as a papaya. Carter, with his commie glasses welded to the bridge of his nose, probably won't notice.

I sat next to a fellow on flight to Nassau who had considered opening a business in Cuba, thru one of his Caribbean businesses,to sell much-needed building supplies, but after his partner did a feasibility study, they realized that Castro lies, cheats, and steals from anyone unwise enough to try to do business there. One Spanish firm purchased an apartment building near oceanfront in Havana and remodeled it into condos to sell to Spanish and other citizens free to travel to Cuba. All paperwork was done with Castro's government, every i dotted and t crossed. They spent millions remodeling the building, then Castro literally stole it from them. They had no rights of recourse. Just a total loss.

The US Navy should now be able to forgo nuclear reactors on submarines and other ships---all they need to do is figure out how to harness the energy generated by Hyman Rickover spinning in his grave over the actions of his "protege"--"Jimmuh Cahtah".

But he's a nice guy and a "senior statesman" now, so all of his past failures can be forgotten now. /sarcasm

Unfortunately, that's how the media portrays him. What they don't report on is Mr. Carter's unauthorized negotiations with countries like China and North Korea. Peanut-head Carter made grandiose promises on behalf of the United States that were not possible to deliver. He should have been prosecuted. As far as I'm concerned, the last two DemonRat presidents should be in prison.

Wow watta suprise! Dont you think ANYONE would know the nature of a communist country headed by an El Supremo?? Actually, their greed certainly played right into Fidel's hands! God help the US if JC (killer wabbit) makes a deal with the El Supremo too! GWB should revoke JC's passport!

The Carter-on-kneepads moment where he anxiously prostated himself in front of Castro while Castro was purposely ingnoring him was priceless.

Doesn't an American need permission to travel to cuba? Who gave him permission? Who owns the plane he is using? Are WE ultimately paying for this trip?

This kleptocratic practice began early with the theft of billions in Ametrican assets (after we supported him against Batista, no less.)

That was the reason for economic sanctions. Castro could have ended the "embargo" at any time in the last forty years simply by agreeing to make restitution.

Last February, Michael Kelly wrote what I consider to be the ultimate statement about Jimmy Carter. He described him as "the president who set a record for incompetence that will stand until the seas run dry." Here's the link: Link
