Doing the bump!
Oh to be a fly on the wall.....
o~<);-)
Figures Billy would have started haranguing you guys. I'm glad to see that you were there in force, though.
I appreciate the invite that I received from several of you, but I had plenty of other errands I was previously tied into (primarily getting things together and playing chauffer for my oldest daughter's 8th grade dance - couldn't disappoint her).
Back to Billy - for those of you not familiar, Billy McKinney is a former Atlanta cop, and a Georgia state representative with a checkered past himself. Billy McKinney actually pulled a knife once on the floor of the Georgia State House, threatening to "cut" another member of that august body who happened to disagree with McKinney. In the early 1990's, McKinney, who was in Savannah supporting his daughter during the fight over the redistricting of Cynthia's oddly-shaped, gerrymandered district. Black conservative Congressman Gary Franks (R-CT) left the court house, where he was accosted and physically threatened by the elder McKinney. Billy McKinney was not charged in either case.
Both the elder McKinney and his Arab/Communistic daughter are under investigation by Georgia state election officials currently for campaigning WITHIN a precinct on Election Day. Not only that, but supposedly Billy McKinney threatened a poll worker who asked the pair to leave the premesis.
Here's hoping that the tratorious Congresscritter and her nutso father are indicted and trundled out of the misery of the voters of Georgia...
AAWWwwww,(Blush)tweren't nuttin'. Wish I would've had the time to make more.
Prayers for your soon to be Mrs VC's grandmother and all familymembers and praises that she is heaven-bound. God bless you. Jen
Thank you for your kind words. She has had a good life and is with the Lord. God Bless You.
Billy
Do you do radio here in hotlanta??
Billy
MEGA BUMP!!!
I just ran the tape a couple of times. The exact sound bite I managed was:
Jim/FP: "This is just political cover to show she's interested in veterans, interested in the military, when nothing could be further from the truth"Anchorwoman: "The congresswoman was not available for comment" (with maybe a touch of a "dry" tone).
I used to anchor news weekend mornings at WGST, and I was the last GM and morning talk show host at the old WIGO. The only thing I do in 'the biz' these days is to engineer for "Keepin' The Faith with Rabbi Steve Lebow" and "Power Money" on Sunday mornings on WALR/TalkRadio 1340 & 1230 AM. Rabbi Lebow drags me into the conversation (kicking and screaming all the way - [g]) most weeks. His show (and yes, you can call in) is on from 9-10 Sunday morning.
Radio is in my blood - I would kill to get my hands on a talk show of my own again, especially a national one (so, yes, if any Freepers have access to any syndicators/producers, I'm VERY interested!).
Bump!
Thank-you for the background info on Mr. McKinney. Some of it I had heard, some of it was new.
Why this man is above the law, I'll never know. He sure gave me the impression today as he was calling us "Nazis" that as long as he shouts the loudest, he is top dog. He has no idea how much that hurt. My father served in the Navy during WWII. My grandparents immigrated from Italy in the 20's to escape fascism, learned the language and the laws of the US and were productive citizens, even starting a successful business. Mr. McKinney encouraged Ms. McKinney's entourage to accuse us "rich white folk" of having ancestors that supported slavery.
What a cheap shot. My ancestors barely lived above poverty level in the "old country" and worked themselves literally to death in this country in order to be successful Americans. Unfortunately, I was unable to retort above the shouts.
Anyway, rant/off. Thanks once again for the enlightening McKinney history.
God Bless you.
