You've followed this story from day one. I know I read a lot of posts by you on the Chandra Levy forum. Would you please help me? I think I'm remembering lots of details, but it's been a while. Feel free to correct anything since, as I said, it's been a while!

- In the days immediately preceding Chandra's disappearance she called Condit's special pager number numerous times.

- The only items reported missing were her gold bracelet that Condit had given her. A small check, $37? dollars, a gift from her godparents. I know the amount had a significant meaning and that check was never cashed, and her gold ring with her initials on it.

- Chandra was surfing the web looking for airfare prices and had not yet booked her flight according to an e-mail sent to her parents on 5/1/01. She was considering taking a train to save money.

- All of her clothes were NOT packed. There were some left hanging in her closet and some of her toiletries were not packed, they were still in her bathroom, thus the speculation that the bags that were packed and by her door were from a return visit to Condit's condo.

- Her apartment was immaculately clean. Virtually no fingerprints on her computer keyboard. Strange, if true, for a woman who supposedly surfed the internet for four hours right before disappearing.

- There was a blanket found on the floor near the door inside her apartment. Almost as if she had been resting on the couch and somebody had come to her door and said something like, "Come with me now if you want to talk to Gary". That would explain only grabbing her keys and not her wallet, (ID), and not dressing up to go meet "her man".

- The dogs that were brought to her apartment traced her scent from her apt. down the hall, down the stairs, out to the curb and then lost the trail. Indicating that she must have gotten into a car. Otherwise they certainly would have been able to track her at least a bit further even if it had rained, exhaust fumes had taken over her scent, etc.

- Chandra was very physically fit. Trained to be a law enforcement officer and worked out frequently but was not a jogger. This according to her BOP friend, Sven Jones.

- She cancelled her health club membership, but she still had time remaining on her contract and the health club attendant asked her if she wanted to transfer the membership back to a club in CA. She said she'd think about it.

- Condit's excuse for not "checking up" on her or thinking her disappearance was strange was because he was sure she was on a train on her way home. Even though previously he had claimed that he hadn't talked to her for several days.

- His claim that he hadn't talked to her for several days was supported by phone records. I thought there was one message that was left on her answering machine saying something like, "I understand you're going home, good luck..."

- There were phone records that proved that a call came from Condit's home in Modesto to his condo in DC at a time that Condit was proven to be at work. The call was answered according to the phone records, (length of long distance connection). It was also said at that time by Linda Zamsky that Chandra had indicated that she had been staying at Condit's condo. Making the theory that Chandra had answered Condit's phone, (seeing the number on the caller ID), and decided to finally confront her, (Carolyn), at least possible if not plausable.

- Condit's alibi, (timeline of whereabouts), on the day of her disappearance was proven to be false. He indicated he had met with a reporter at the Tryst restauraunt and she refuted that and told the press so. His timeline was never corrected.

- Part of Condit's alibi was a Dr.'s appt. but that was never confirmed either.

- The watchbox that contained the watch from Jolene Mackay, (former mistress), that Condit drove to Alexandria, VA to dispose of had been at his office. His excuse for driving to VA to throw it away was that people, (press), had been going through his trash at his condo. But if the box was at the office, he could have thrown it away at the office and the trash there is not brought out for the press to rummage through, it's incinerated on site. And didn't Chandra wear a large watch that looked in the home video of her like it could be a man's watch?

- Condit called Anne Marie Smith every day even while Carolyn was in town, but NEVER called Chandra even once, creating suspicion that he knew she wouldn't/couldn't answer. One more question, is it just me or is it more than just a little "coincidental" that now that her body has been found we hear about a walkman that we never heard about before and, oh, coincidentally, we have a guy in custody that was attacking women for their walkmen. Way too convenient. And it was reported by a congressional paper which could indicate that Condit's staff had put out the news.

Isn't it interesting that a "man walking a dog" spotted Condit throwing away the watchbox? It was speculated that he was really a FBI agent trailing Condit at the time. Now that the Grand Jury has been convened and they are talking to people another "man walking a dog" finds Chandra's remains. Am I wrong or did the first man NEVER go on TV? I know he did a brief interview via phone, but we've never seen his face. Once again, this second man has not been seen or interviewed that I've seen. Things that make you go hmmmm......

Thanks for your help! It's been a long time and I know you'll remember a lot of this stuff.

You are doing a good job putting some of this information together. I will come back to some of your other points later, but first the man that saw Condit throw the watch box away was following him in a car and he did do at least two interviews on TV. The first was over the phone and the second was live. I think he immediately dropped out of sight after that. Condit is now in a heap of trouble and will soon be an official suspect.

I've done a fair amount of traveling. The day before I intend to catch my train or plane, I pack up everything except what I will need to wear or use that night (such as pj's and toiletries) and what I will need to wear or use the next morning after I shower and before I check out. Then I pack up those remaining items just before I go down to the front desk to turn in my key and settle up. It would make sense that Chandra, living in an apartment, rather than a hotel room, would have other things left out as well, such as the blanket. She probably got the apartment "immaculately clean" because she wanted to get her cleaning deposit returned to her. Money was a consideration. That's why she supposedly opted to take a train rather than a plane.

Your thoughts about the men walking their dogs are intriguing. I don't know what to make of it, but there could be something there.
