Incredible article showing how our legiscritters (DemocRATs in particular - no surprise there) vote against measures that would promote school choice, yet send their own kids to private school.

Go to the original article for the tables - they're very telling, but I can't get them to come up in the article.

When living in Chicago in the late 1980's, and going through another strike by public school teachers, the school superintendent (D. Sharon Grant) had the gaul to announce that she was angry because "her kids were not in school due to the strike". Less than a week later, it was found by a reporter that her kids attend private school. She was forced to resign her position beause of this.

Look at how many public school OFFICIALS send their children to private schools. Makes you wonder sometimes. Of course, democrats want uneducated kids to become uneducated adults, so that they will vote democrat.

..with 47 percent of Representatives and 50 percent of Senators with school-age children affirming ADMITTING that they had exercised the private school choice option...

Which means the numbers are higher considering the liberals probably most certainly lied during the survey.

One cannot expect those people to send THEIR children to the same schools as the children of "COMMON" people.

Sure they're exercising the school choice option, they're not stupid. I'm just thankful they're not doing it with my tax money.

Paul Vallas, the superintendant of the Chicago Public Schools for a number of years and recent candidate for the Democratic nomination for Governor in Illinois spoke at an awards breakfast on Wednesday for my child's private Christian HS. He told us that all of his childern were in our school system and then went on to say that his wife forced him to allow it. He praised our system so as to get the support of the voters there and was still able to shift the decision to his wife so as to retain the votes of his Democratic allies. Pretty standard trick for politicions.

I only single him out because I was there, but it is standard operating procedure for politicions from the White House to aldermen.

The rest of his remarks were acceptable if somewhat self serving IMO. All in all he seemed like a decent person who's heart is in the right place but who's ideas of governance are misguided.

Yet.

They will think of something. I'm sure vouchers can be perverted to that cause.

Well...if they happen to be Congress members,or local school officials,or tax lice of any sort,a pretty good argument could be generated that they are indeed doing with your tax money(and mine).

Severe cognitive dissonance happening here. How can his heart be in the right place when he supports killing babies and recruiting our kids into sexual deviancy. He is a democRAT after all. DemocRATs are either stupid or evil. usually both

I think not.

How can his heart be in the right place when he supports killing babies and recruiting our kids into sexual deviancy.

Ya know, I'm not wild about the Democratic platform, but this kind of statement is not only wrong but explains why many people think of Republicans as knuckle draggers. You owe an apology to all the Republicans on this forum who you drag down with you. I'm not a Republican so you owe me nothing.

You must have been taking lessons from Kevvie boy, CJ, Roscoe and the rest of the deep thinkers here.

You owe an apology to all the Republicans on this forum who you drag down with you. I'm not a Republican so you owe me nothing.

I was hoping you'd respond to this so I could expand on it.

The democrat platform is pro-abortion and pro-homoseuxality. They have been for years. If you align yourself with the democrats you are accepting their platform. Therefore if you call yourself a democrat you are for killing babies and recruiting children into sexual deviancy, no matter what your 'personal' actions may be. Consider (if we have one) a pro-life democrat senator. Right now his aligning himself with the democrats gives them control of the senate which they will use to advance the homosexual lifestyle and the killing of babies. Whether he personnaly supports these things or not is immaterial, his support of the party causes these things to advance. Therefore, as a matter of truth, he supports these evils no matter what he says.

The truth is that with very rare exceptions elected democrats always vote the party line. Even those who claim to be pro life will end up voting for abortion. I've seen it far too often. The people elect someone who claims to be ok and then when they get to D.C. they vote like democrats. We should expect that every time because they are democrats. Democrats have no firm values other than to support the democrat party line.

The people who think of Republicans as knuckle-draggers (I've never met one of these people by the way) are probably life long brain dead (or evil) democrats anyway. (Of course I can't say for sure because I never knowingly associate with democrats). They will vote democrat as long as the party machine tells them what to do. They are beneath contempt.

God Save America (Please)

Let me clarify for those who didn't get it the first time. I've never met anyone who thinks of republicans as knuckle-draggers. Knuckle-dragger is usually more aptly applied to the union thugs found in democrat party halls.
