The Brits blockaded Israel before Statehood. The Brits killed any Jew trying to get from the DP camps to Israel after WWII. The Brits armed and trained the Arabs to fight the Israelis. The Brits fought w/Haganah to prevent Statehood and jailed those fighting the Arabs and fighting for survival of a Jewish State & labelled them *terrorists*. The Brits gave Transjordan to the Arabs to surround Israel w/armed enemies. The Brits spearheaded *partition*.

Britain had the largest, most corrupt and elitist colonial Empire since that of Rome well into the 20th century.

Which society is the most repugnant: Britain, Israel or the USA? (hint: it isn't the 2nd nor the third)

"The whole history of the world is summed up in the fact that, when nations are strong, they are not always just, and when they wish to be just, they are no longer strong." Winston Churchill

At the end of the second world war, while British troops were liberating Jews in German POW camps, Jewish guerrilla and terrorist activity was directed against British servicemen, not the Arabs.

Harried by criticism from Washington and American public opinion, Churchill responded by offering that the U.S. take over Palistine. And, although the U.S. voiced its support of a Jewish state it didn’t take up the challenge. By February 1947, the British Government had no option but to abandon its commitment and return Palestine to the United Nations who separated the land into Arab and Jewish states. The British troops withdrew from Palestine by May 1948 and the inevitable Jewish-Arab war that followed resulted, and the state of Israel emerged victorious.

Your history lesson is one-sided and simplistic. Treatment of history as black and white, right and wrong produces a pi$$ poor assessment of the facts. Try to answer these - when China becomes the superpower, how will it write the history of the U.S.? Will the U.S. become more or less repugnant than the British you portray?
