Swell ... an "Encounter" weekend. Just what I need to hear. =)
Any chance you can get your hands on some of the "Encounter" materials and feed me some names and/or publishers? Just curious.

I'll see if I can get some materials; most are "home grown," as our diocese has been doing this for nearly twenty years.

For the record, when my wife and I went to a similar 'encounter' weekend before our marriage, we found it to be meaningless, toothless, and generally filled with psychobabble pusillanimity. The priest (call me 'Father Dave') didn't bother to wear his Roman collar and the natural family planning section was an absolute joke. It was presented like, "well, none of you are *really* going to use this, but we have to go over it, so ..."
My brother and sister-in-law who went to the same one with us were absolutely appalled at how much time was spent 'softening' or running away from Church teaching on various issues - even more so than we were. They wouldn't even attend the mass afterwards - they went and found a Catholic church nearby. In short, it was geared toward making Catholics-in-name-only feel comfortable and making those of us who take the Faith seriously get sick to our stomachs.
