The proposed partition was 1947. Mea culpa.

Incidentally, this was the original partition the Israelis accepted and the Arabs rejected.

And this is what the Israelis had after the 1948 war (warning: it's a very nice map, but it's 4 MByte)

And this is what they currently occupy.

Seems to me the Arabs should quit now, before they lose any more territory!

The "palestinians" are trans-Jordanians---Tell you what, instead of having to actually deal with the issues, lets just plaster people with arbitrary, self serving labels. Won't that be fun? :-)

Well, perhaps you should re-educate these arab leaders Palestinians are Jordanians and btw--Pretending there was a state when there never was one is about as arbitrary and self serving as anything I've seen.

The Israeli's and their supporters can dish out all the misery they'd like, but they shouldn't erupt into self righteous shreiking when reciprocation occours.

As someone else stated, you have it backwards. the facts speak for themselves 1) the Israelis want to be left alone to live in peace 2) the Palestinains want to kill Israelis, and do so whenever they can 3) The Israeilis exercise their right to defend themselves 4) the Palestinains whine like the worthless pigs they are.

So why don't you go stick that in your history book, so you can get it right next time---No problemo! I'll write a letter to the author asking her to make sure that the next ANE History text she publishes has an appropriate amount of agenda driven whining and inflammatory name calling. ;-)

I'm sure you will, I'm sure you will.

At the turn of the last century "Palestine" was a sparsely inhabited wasteland of little interest to the Arab/Muslim world. Population was barely over 100,000. The Jews returned and turned the desert into a cultivated and economically viable land. Suddenly the Arab/Muslim anti-Jew fanatics created endless myths about the sacredness of Jerusalem (including the pathetic lie that Mohammed ever set foot in the city) and "Palestine". In 1948 the JEWS were called "Palestinians". It wasn't until the late '60s that the Egyptian killer Arafat started the whole Palestine myth as a cultural excuse to kill all the Jews. Now of course every Arab/Muslim in the "West Bank" and Gaza is raised to believe all the myths and are eager to kill to get "their" land back. A singularly bloodythirsty race of inhuman savages is the result. Never in the history of mankind has such a despicable cultural of killers been generated. I mean, what can you say about a people like this? A 16 year old kid calls his mom and says- hey, I'm on way to blow myself up and kill a bunch of baby Jews. And his mom says GOOD LUCK SON! Palestinians suck.

Considering that Palestine had been a distinctly Arab nation for just less than 1000 years (Caliph 'Umar captured it from the Byzantines in 638CE) and arguably remained so even after its incorporation into the Ottoman Empire in 1516, I find your statements highly amusing.

The population was not Arab for centuries later. Jews and Samaritans were a plurality as late as 615, so Unless a million arabs sttled the land, it took quite a while for the locals to be Arabicized.
I would also note that the land was wlso under Crusader control for some time and that the Seljuk and Mamluks were not Arabs.

Saladin who retook Jerusalem from the Crusaders also was neither a Palestinians nor an Arab. He was a Kurd.

Tell you what, instead of having to actually deal with the issues, lets just plaster people with arbitrary, self serving labels. Won't that be fun? :-) The Palestinians are as distinct a people as almost any in the Near East and Europe. In other words, not very distinct at all. However, that is a inconsistent basis upon which to deny the fact that Palestine has historically been considered a nation because precisely the same can be said about many European and Near Eastern nations.

I will agree about the Near east bit. All Arab Nations are Modern inventions, although Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, and Iraq have pre-Arab history to build upon.
However, there has never been a distinct Palestinian people, culture, relgiion, language or (until 1923) history. It is an outright lie to claime that the Arabs of Cis-Jordan (Israel plus the contested territories) are different from the 90% of Trans-Jordanians/Jordanians who are neither Hashemite nor Bedouin. The Palestinians have a artificial countiry for their artificial nationality, Jordan.

Thus far from a war of national liberation, this is a border war over a contested area.

Easy.
1 .Israelites have lived there for over 3000 years. Teh military conquest of the land is irrelevent.
2. Unlike any of the surviving nationalities you mentioned, the Israelites only have one country to claim. It is a defining factor for Jews.
Arabs can exist without the 1/3 of Palestine. Jews cannot.

1. Only Italy and Germany had bombed civilians on any scale when Roosevelt made the speach.
2. Israel goes after the military. The Palestinains go after civilians. There is no moral equivalence.

I would not give them a state on the moon.

I would.

How much duct tape will it take to fasten a few million of 'em onto surplus rockets?

Look at the Leftist. :|
See the Leftist claim whilst disclaiming and disclaim the disclaimer. :/
See the attempt at emulating Lenin speaking at a Communist Party plenary session. :&

Somewhere in the world, after each of these obscenities, one of the cheesy pig-styes they laughingly call "mosques" should mysteriously explode.

No warning, no fanfare, only the usual denial-- best delivered with a nonchalant Gallic shrug.
