Three of five districts have Republican incumbents, that means two districts are targeting 'RATs. It's not only aimed at the GOP. Plus, this is the democratic process, we're using the elections to try to affect public policies. Ah, what exactly is wrong about this.

Congressman Barr is d-u-m, dumb sometimes: "Barr said . . . The centerpieces of the Libertarian agenda include legalizing drugs, gambling, prostitution, and pornography, as well as halting all restrictions on immigration," he said."

Actually, individual liberty with personal responsibility is the centerpiece of the libertarian agenda. Apparently, Bob Barr is opposed to that. BTW, pornography is legal, 99.9% of all drugs plus alcohol and tobaco are legal, gambling is legal in most places anymore, even prostitution is legal in parts of Nevada without the world coming to an end. Libetarians also want to end the Welfare State, unlike managing it like Barr. That would take a huge part of the immigration problem off the table. It's all going to be done thru the democratic process.

In a recent statement, Barr said he didn't have the time to worry about the Libertarians, with whom he doesn't agree on many issues.

"The centerpieces of the Libertarian agenda include legalizing drugs, gambling, prostitution, and pornography, as well as halting all restrictions on immigration," he said.

Well, at least he didn't call us anarchists, which is a step up from discussion around here lately.

It's generally the social conservatives that begin the mud slinging...I don't know if you caught Harry brown on Hannity's radio show earlier...I usually like Hannity, but he really lost it today....Brown ended up calling him an idiot. Although I do agree with drug decriminalization, I don't think it should be the premiere campaign platform....Sean would n't answer Harrys question regarding "where in the constitution he read that drug use should be a criminal activity". In fact, Sean kept reaching for the most extreme argumentative endpoint, to see if Harry would agree or disagree. Hannity looked just as stupid as most of the lefty media.

The day is dimmer with Mr. Barr taking up the mantle of raving nitwit...a mantle best reserved for frosty ole' Mr. Dodd. sigh. but the 'social conservatives' and the 'libertarian/ freemarket types' must do their dance. Over on the other side, the gaggle of socialist/statists watch with amazement and wonder at the sight of people fighting over who gets to do what...They know the answer, individual people get to do NOTHING. The state and the scientifically determined elite decide what and when any thing is done. good night Mr. Barr.

The LP has made a deliberate decision to emphasize the drug issue in an effort to gain votes and visability. The LP has come to this point because of its three decades of electoral failure.

Too bad. I've contributed and voted LP all these years, but have come to the conclusion that the way to go is with libertarian thinking, ideas of the small 'l' variety, such as Cato.

I'm all in favor of ending the drug laws and this crazy WOD, but I'm afraid the LP puts itself in the 'nutso' category by this approach. I won't be re-upping my LP membership even as I remain committed to the idea of individual rights and a free society.

Man, you got that right! Some of these dudes are so whacko; they're their own worst enemies. Where we gonna go though? Lately the pubbies are turning my stomach. The ratz are liars and unworthy of anything resembling trust. Buccanhan? The Constitutionalists?? The JBTs that inhibit this place???

Yeah, about a year ago I changed my party to L, just to send the R's a message. Maybe its time for Atlas to Shrug. Maybe its time to excelerate and exastebate the decline of our society. Maybe it is time to vote L.

Anybody know how to get on the dole?

I agree, but I think it would be better if we just targeted every race where the margin of victory was less than 5%.

The power to destroy a thing is the power to control it.

I get really sick and GD tired of people who suggest that the Libertarian adgenda consists of leagalizing drugs and prostitution. To the contrary, it consists of eliminating government control of these sorts of personal decisions. If I want to pay for sex (which I don't) or if I want to smoke a joint (which I also don't) that's my business. For some Jerk-off in Washington to make that determination for me is ludicrous.

Of course the Libertarians are tools of the Left! These Libertarians are obnoxious, Bush-bashing creeps, incredibly distructive.

Naw, you must be mistaken. With their unwavering principles and astonishing clarity of vision, not to mention phenomenal political acumen, Libertarians could never be duped by a bunch of relative neophytes. This must be part of their master plan to lead us all back to Eden.

What's Bush done that he deserves to be called an asset of the right wing? Would it be his soft stance on immigration, his raising the national debt, or his letting the criminal Bill Clinton off the hook?

They're moral-liberal ideologues, not unlike the Democrats, the Greens, or the Trotskyite Spartacist League.

LOL! Just thinking of ALL the laws on the books that would punish you for doing things you've never done and would never do must really chap your hide.

Curious that L's want to defeat R's over the War Against Some Drug Users. I think more R than D politicians and pundits have called for its end. Better to go after the D's on this one.
