I do see one shot of Basil.... In the pic below Re-Joyce with kangaroos... Basil has her hands on the shoulders of some ugly fat woman (carrying flag), on the street corner.

Which also reminds me - to the guy who works for P.S. in D.C...... I'm sorry! I took a flag away from you (it belonged to someone else) and I had promised to replace it with one furnished by CSE (I thought...), but found out when I tried to grab you another, that they actually belonged to Gracey! (Gracey brought a batch specifically for protests.) I'm sooooo sorry!

Andersen's very existence may have hinged on them preventing the problem. It didn't make them.

They thought they could get away with it because they were operating in a system that gave them the tools to play fast and loose. Had AlGore been elected, they might well have succeeded because we would be implementing Kyoto, treaty or not, and Enron would be trading the carbon credits as planned.

You really don't understand and are way too trusting of how it works now.

I thought that photo had a shot of basil, but it was a bit blurry. All you Texas FReepers did a great job routing the opposition -- it's great how they turned and fled when they realized they were outnumbered and outwitted (the signs were very effective).

Did the writing abilities (lack of) in the response to Niger Innis escape notice? I can't believe this!! The epitomy of ignorance. This person is one of those in charge? Why am I not surprized? Look again folks!!

dear niger, i am so sorry to take so long to reply to your request. i'm in dallas and things are very crazy, exxonmobil has hired to folks to counter protest our events, we have representatives arriving from different countries, and i lost one of our key staff people early last week. unfortunately the mock trial has already been scripted out and we've had to turn away some folks who are very connected to ExxonMobil, so unfortunately we're not able to accommodate your request.

hope that you will come to dallas any way and meet with some of the impacted community reps and that we can build solidarity with your organization.

again apologies for my tardiness.

regards,

chris doran

Thanks, Humidston--I hadn't noticed. Those long shots are the very best photos of me--the further away I am from the camera, the better I look. Now I notice that I am in the photo to the right of that one, too. Aren't I special--LOL!

Whoever that fat lady was, she must have been annoying me, as I seem to be trying to wring her neck. I actually saw a lot of this lady at the activities--everytime I turned aroun, there she was! (And what a pleasure that was!)

Thanks for the flag, Jeff. And thanks for all that you did yesterday, Ms.AntiFeminazi, and for this incredible, detailed (BRAVO!-inducing) report. :)

Jeff, although I know you have mixed feelings about being in Texas just now, I am glad that you were there yesterday to take part in this show of patriot/conservative solidarity.

But now that you have done that, please get back to the 'Trodden Under' drawing board.... :)

Well said. Its surprising how many "played" the political climate of the wacky left to gain favor, hinging their entire future on it. Things would be drastically different for a few companies had AlGore stolen the election. I suspect that several leftists (anti-capitalists at that) were heavily invested in companies that might have gained from Kyoto (gas companies, for example). Heck, I've got nothing against natural gas but I despise people driving my heating costs up based on junk science. I thought I was going to have to get a coal burning stove. :)

As far as Enron, they practically wrote the deregulation rules themselves along with good 'ol Ms. Browner (whose expertise in the dynamics of electrical systems totally escapes me).

Ahhh, but she does know who is in charge... so to speak.

I know, a revolting display of pathetic license.

It's developmental.

Hello, great Freep report, you guys did a terrific job!

My husband has worked in and around the CA oil business all of his adult life, and he traveled as a boy with his family to other countries when his dad worked on oil rigs way back when.

In April, he had to go do an inspection job in the Midlands/Odessa area of TX, and he saw much of the surrounding area as well. When he got home, he told me it broke his heart to see the ravages of the abandoned oil businesses there. Rigs and equipment covered in weeds, lying aside the road in fields; boarded up buildings and stores, etc. I don't pretend to know what happened in TX, and we've certainly had our share of abandonments here and elsewhere, but when are these eco-fools who don't understand the oil business going to wake up?

I used to regularly encounter the protesters down by the beach in So. Calif., mostly whining about the offshore rigs. When I spoke to any of these people, it became obvious they didn't have a clue how the drilling was done, how hypothetical spills would be handled, etc., they were spouting nonsense. Bravo again on a job well done in TX!!!

Excellent work in making the eco-terrorist, professional anti-capitalist protestors look like the infantile weenies that they are!
