OK, class, let's get this straight. It was a Harris Poll that had 57% of the public approving on the job Dubya is doing re the Muddle-East situation. 57% was NOT Harris' overall approval number for the Prez...nor was it Zogby's figure on ANY question.
The misleading 57% number was mistakenly reported by Mort Kondracke as an overall rating for Harris - more out of haste, I suspect, than malicious intent. Mort may lean Democratic in his personal politics, but professionally he is scrupulously honest...one of the very last honest Democrats (and a pretty conservative one at that). If Mort says something askew, it's because he misread something, not because of any "agenda."
I started really paying attention to Mort when I learned how much respect Brit Hume has for him. If Brit respects you, you're fine in MY book.
